Travelzest is moving ahead with online developments despite being subject of a potential takeover bid

Travelzest is moving ahead with online developments despite being subject of a potential takeover bid.

The operator has been granted an extra month until November 14 to hold takeover talks with Canadian firm Red Label Vacations.

The company has now launched a new online hotel booking engine allowing users to search for hotels by date and destination.

The development means that Travelzest is able to offer hotel accommodation throughout the world for the first time

A new-look Travelzest website is also in the pipeline to appear “over the coming weeks”.

UK managing director Guy Edwards, referring to the hotel booking functionality, said: “This is one of several new ventures for Travelzest as we approach 2012.

“We are pleased to be able to offer a straightforward search facility for those looking to book hotel stays worldwide quickly and easily.

“It’s a service that many of our customers have requested in the past, and one that is being offered in response to a rise in interest in more exotic destinations.”
