Travelport has bolstered its board with the appointment of two new directors.

Managing director of Angelo, Gordon & Co Gavin Baiera and managing director of JP Morgan Chase Richard Buccarelli have both joined the board with immediate effect.

Jeff Clarke, executive chairman of Travelport, said:  “I am delighted to welcome Gavin and Richard to the Travelport Board of Directors.

“Both executives have extensive international management experience and strong track records in their respective fields.”

Angelo, Gordon & Co was described as a privately-held registered investment advisor currently managing approximately $23 billion.

Prior to joining Angelo Gordon, Baiera was co-head of the Strategic Finance Group at Morgan Stanley and prior to that vice president at General Electric Capital Corporation.

Buccarelli currently heads up JPMorgan Chase’s general services function which includes sourcing, procurement operations, supplier performance management and global information management.

He has previously held several senior roles in both operations and mergers and acquisitions at Precision Partners Holding Company and senior executive posts at a number of high profile US and international corporations and private practice law firms.

Travelport has recently secured an extension to its loans facilities to December 2016 amid speculation that parent company Travelport Holdings could seek Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US.
