Travel portal Australiatravelmarket.com has launched its own TripAdvisor-style functionality, enabling users to post comments on the site’s listed accommodation.
The launch of Accommodation Review Forum is a move to tap into a growing desire among consumers to have access to impartial feedback from other travellers.
The site currently has over 2,000 accommodation products on the site including hotels, resorts, apartments, campsites and farmstays.
Chief executive Dave Simmons said: “The success of Australiatravelmarket.com has been based on identifying the needs of independent travellers and developing and delivering solutions to meet these changing needs.
“The unique Accommodation Review Forum has been developed in response to ATM customers asking for the opportunity to learn from the experiences of other travellers.
“It is clear that some travellers do not trust the information provided by travel providers and would rather plan their holidays based upon feedback from like minded travellers”.
The company is expected to embark on a series of initiatives in the coming months as it attempts to develop other community based tools.
