World Travel Market has completed the speaker line up for an expanded technology and online travel programme at this year’s annual trade show.

The sessions will take place on Tuesday November 8 in a larger theatre than last year able to accommodate 250 people and will be moderated by Paul Richer, senior partner at technology consultancy Genesys.

The sessions have also been moved to the Platinum Suite at the Excel exhibition centre, reflecting the 40% increase in the technology zone in the show’s main hall.

Among the speakers confirmed to be there are Google Head of Travel Nate Bucholz, Frommer’s Unlimited director Giles Longhurst, lastminute.com head of mobile David Slocombe and BA technical Innovations manager Chris Carmichael.

As well as sessions on the latest developments with search engines, the day will focus on content, social media, and the increasing importance of mobile.

WTM exhibition director Simon Press said: “The Technology and Online Travel seminar programme has always been one the most popular, with many sessions standing room only.

“Furthermore, there is a full programme of content in the Technology Presentation Theatre on the exhibition floor. This year’s programme is as strong as ever with many high profile speakers taking part.”
