Travel price comparison website dealchecker.co.uk has named Mark Attwell as its new managing director.
Attwell, who moves from comparethemarket.com, will officially take on the role next month after a handover from his predecessor Alex Saint.
Saint will concentrate on the development of Secret Escapes, the luxury travel members club offering discounts on luxury hotels and holidays.
Attwell’s key responsibilities will be to grow and develop the brand for parent company Easyvoyage.
He was previously head of e-commerce at Thomas Cook Signature and Virgin Holidays.
“We have strong bespoke technology that sits behind our core flight and holiday products and there is potential to develop this,” said Attwell.
“I admire the passion and enthusiasm of our staff who continually search out and find great travel ideas for our users and I’m looking forward to developing this business by increasing subscribers further from the current 1.1 million and growing current travel partners in the large and niche sectors of the industry.”
Saint said: “Mark is perfect to take on this role, his experience in e-commerce and travel will prove invaluable in taking the brand forward and I am looking forward to focusing on new challenges.”
