Travelport has renewed its technology supplier agreement with Affinion International, the fast growing UK travel agency that specialises in closed user group loyalty programmes.
The deal will see Affinion European arm use Travelport’s Galileo platform to access its air, hotel, and car rental content. Affinion’s clients include many large corporations in the worlds of finance, retail, travel and internet commerce.
The technology partnership covers Affinion’s activities in the UK, Ireland, Belgium and Germany. The agency will also use Travelport’s e-Pricing, allowing travellers to shop for low fares and Travelport Rapid Reprice, an automated ticket re-pricing system.
Mark Mitchell, commercial and product director at Affinion International, said: “Travelport has proved to be a very supportive partner over the last three years and our joint commitment to extend the deal further demonstrates the value we place in our relationship.
“We are very satisfied with the search technology provided by e-Pricing and the opportunity for streamlining processes through Rapid Reprice. This coupled with the expertise from a supportive local team is what we need to succeed.”
Jason Clarke, Travelport’s president and managing director for Europe and Brazil added: “The deal follows hard on the heels of another recent agreement signed in the US and is a clear demonstration of Affinion’s belief in Travelport’s extensive content, innovative technology and support infrastructure.
“We look forward to continuing to partner with Affinion so that they in turn, can provide superior services to their clients.”
