Easyvoyage bids to drive up UGC quality with review contest

Travel portal Easyvoyage is offering a prize for the best user submissions as part of its ongoing campaign against fake travel reviews

Travel portal Easyvoyage is offering a prize for the best user submissions as part of its ongoing campaign against fake travel reviews.

The ‘Easytester’ contest aims to encourage and reward the best hotel reviewers on Easyvoyage’s EasyOpinions travel community, which was recently re-launched with new measures against fraudulent or malicious contributions.

The contest will see Easyvoyage’s team of travel journalists select five of the best reviews posted on the website each month, with a new winner announced every three months.

Easytester winners will win a week-long hotel reviewing trip for them and a partner, sharing their experiences with the site’s 100,000 daily visitors.

Contributors must provide real, verifiable contact details and post at least five ‘detailed’ hotel reviews.

The competition follows the recent rebranding of the Easyvoyage website, featuring new content sections, 196,000 destination photos, user experience improvements and accessibility tools, and a ratings system to help users better understand market trends, specifically price changes.

Founding president Jean-Pierre Nadir said, “The new website marks our intention to continue to provide users with the most relevant and succinct information at their fingertips, making it easier for them to plan their travel.

“Our overriding objective has always been to provide unbiased and good quality hotel reviews to empower our readers to make informed decisions. The new competition helps achieve this by rewarding honest and articulate holidaymakers.”
