Carlson renews contract for Pegasus commission system

A contract between Carlson Hotels and Pegasus Solutions for the company’s agent-preferred Global Commission Processing Services has been renewed

Carlson Hotels has renewed its contract with Pegasus Solutions for the company’s agent-preferred Global Commission Processing Services.

Carlson currently uses the system to manage commission tracking and payment for more than 1,000 hotels in 77 countries.

The service enables agents booking with Carlson brands to receive bi-weekly commission payments in 37 currencies.

The three-year agreement now includes the implementation of Pegasus’ Rules Engine and User Interface, which enables Carlson to apply customised rate rules for commission transactions for its Radisson, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, and Park Inn by Radisson brands.

The Pegasus Rules Engine was “pivotal” to Carlson’s contract renewal due to the ability to perform calculations for commissionable transactions based on various criteria the hotel company can manage.

The “rule setting” allows Carlson to develop a custom hierarchy of criteria appropriate to various transactions, global distribution and reservation services vice president Christine Brosnahan said.

She said: “Pegasus not only provides commission processing services that are sought after by travel agents, but it has also developed and implemented a unique solution that makes our business more efficient and manageable.

“With the Rules Engine, we can perform commission calculations based on everything from rate, arrival or departure date, hotel, agency, region, or commissionable or non-commissionable rates, among others. We also benefit from the ability to manage our own rules in the system via a web application to the user interface.”

Pegasus chief operating officer Ric Leutwyler said: “The commercial relationship we have with Carlson Hotels is incredibly important to us, and we appreciate the value and trust they have put in us to continue it through another three years.

“They allow us to serve as an extension of their internal team, while also implementing solutions, like our Rules Engine and user interface, which together serve as an extension of their in-house systems.”
