Sabre Hospitality Solutions is enhancing the use of social media to allow hotels to connect with guests and generate bookings through distribution on sites such as Facebook.
The company’s SocialConversion provides an integrated Facebook booking engine with the look and feel of the hotel website. This allows travellers to search availability, view rooms, shop for rates and complete the booking process within the Facebook framework.
‘Share-your-stay’ functionality enables guests to virally distribute the hotel’s brand and their stay across multiple social channels simultaneously. The toolkit gives the ability to create unique social media-only offers and promotions to push and share within Facebook.
Social media can be integrated into hotel websites through ‘profile portability’ and social plug-ins, enabling users to pre-populate forms, and interact and share content including blog posts, photos and packages via their Facebook account.
Custom tabs and widgets are offered to allow cross-promotional opportunities between the hotel or chain’s own website and social media platforms, driving traffic between locations.
The development comes as recent research in the US found that more than 40% of travellers use social media to research their travel options before purchasing.
