Price comparison flight search site Momondo.com has announced the launch of Momondohotels.com, a hotel search engine. The new site searches and compares prices on more than 450,000 hotels in cities all over the world.
It also searches across multiple agents to ensure customers get the best possible price, and allows users to filter their search by placing pins in a virtual map.
Momondo partner Martin Lumbye said: “We have created a site that searches and compares the best offers on hotels from the most important hotel suppliers, and which enables consumers to find hotels that match their needs.”
The site compares hotels based on location, price, star rating and user reviews, presenting the top-ranked properties as “Momondo Best Choice” hotels. Searches can be refined further if users provide preferences or specific needs.
According to figures from the European Union there were 21 million more overnight stays at hotels in the EU from June to September 2010 than during the same months the previous year. The increasing demand on hotel rooms has lead to a rise in prices which Momondohotels.com hopes to take advantage of.
