A Seattle hotel has been named the best-value property in the world by Expedia customers – and it is one of four US properties to make the top ten.

Italian hotels also performed well in the OTA’s Insiders Select 2011 poll, occupying second, third and fourth place.

 1. Cedarbrook Lodge, US
 2. IQ Hotel Roma, Italy
 3. Hotel Antiche Figure, Italy
 4. Hotel Berchielli, Italy
 5. Hotel Monterey Kyoto, Japan
 6. The Nines, US
 7. Les Terras M Barka, Morocco
 8. K&K Hotel Central, Czech Republic
 9. Hotel Teatro, US
 10. Sofitel New York, US

The Insiders Select 2011 study takes into account more than 500,000 reviews on Expedia’s 135,000 hotels.

Mel Stonier, a representative for Expedia.co.uk said: “When it comes to hotels, luxury is a fairly easy thing to measure, and many travel companies do so.”

“What’s more difficult to measure is value – those hotels that regularly deliver a quality experience for a reasonable cost. Insider Select does exactly that and features the world’s top hotels for value, setting them apart from any other industry league table.”

“Every year, hundreds of thousands of travellers take the time to share their experiences with Expedia and with one another. The 2011 Insider Select List reflects that insight.”
