Flight search engine company Skyscanner have announced they have generated more than $1 billion in downstream revenue in the last 12 months.

Flight search engine company Skyscanner claims to have generated more than $1 billion in downstream revenue in the last 12 months.

The company said the figure is based on conservative estimates of booking referral values, multiplied by typical industry conversion rates.

Skyscanner Chief Executive Gareth Williams said: “It’s been a very strong year for growth. 68% of our search traffic now comes from outside the UK. We get visitors from over 200 countries – 30 of which deliver over 50,000 visitors to the site each month – and data from over 300 suppliers worldwide.”

He said the boost in revenue is due to good deals and high customer confidence.
