Travolution announces 2011 Summit, Awards and 5th anniversary

Travolution reveals exciting new venue for 2011 Summit and Awards as it marks five years of publishing

Travolution, TWgroup’s media brand for the online travel, digital marketing and technology community, today announced that its annual Summit conference and awards events will be staged on the October 11, 2011 at the Roundhouse in Camden.


The events will be combined on one date to coincide with Travolution’s 5th anniversary, and to utilise the unique setting the Roundhouse provides.


The Travolution Summit, the UK’s largest online travel conference, will feature a ‘mini- Apple store’ showcasing the latest mobile applications and devices, and a new interactive programme format, utilising social media techniques to enhance delegate networking.


Confirmed speakers include Ian Carrington, director of mobile for Europe and EMEA, Google; Ed Kamm, president, lastminute.com; Dennis Turner, chief economist, HSBC; Steve Hafner, founder and chief executive of Kayak and Steve Jarrett, founder and chief executive of MePlease, and an original architect of the iPod and iPhone.


The world of online gaming, and its parallels for travel will be explored via Alexis Bonte, founder of Erepublik, as well as the latest developments in digital media and their impact on the cruise, airline and hotel sectors.

The awards attract over 500 senior attendees from across the travel industry, and are the only awards dedicated to recognising excellence in the online and digital travel arena.  Entries for this years’s programme are open from today, and include an enhanced line-up of categories.

Travolution’s fifth year of publishing coincides with the arrival of new editor Brad Girtz. Combining an impressive online media and TV background, Girtz has experience as a television anchor, technology blogger and print journalist.


Reporting to TWGroup head of news Lee Hayhurst, Girtz will oversee Travolution’s print and online content, which will be redesigned and refreshed in tandem with the 5th anniversary.
