A new partnership between Eurostar and Tripadvisor is combining email marketing and user generated reviews.

Eurostar will be including Tripadvisor content into more than 18,000 of the pre-trip emails it sends out every month. This new service will provide customers with hotel reviews and other information for their chosen destination.

Tripadvisor is also offering passengers a “best of” overview for their destination. This gives travellers details of the city’s top-rated attractions and restaurants as well as access to a downloadable guide package.

Odile Delhove, e-commerce ancillary revenues manager for Eurostar, said: “We want to make our passengers’ complete trip as easy as possible.

“By introducing TripAdvisor reviews and ratings we’ve broadened the amount of relevant information they have access to, which will assist them when it comes to choosing their ideal trip.”

The TripAdvisor reviews and information have also been incorporated in Eurostar’s website. This is the first time a European rail company has incorporated TripAdvisor reviews directly into its business strategy.

Séverine Philardeau, senior director of partnerships at Tripadvisor, said: “We are delighted to partner with Eurostar to help empower their passengers to make the very best travel decisions when preparing for their trip across the Channel/across the continent or to the UK, through insight and feedback from the experiences of real travellers.”
