Yahoo! Travel has relaunched its website in the UK and Ireland.
The goal of the new site is to encourage users to upload their pictures, share their experiences and provide like-minded people with recommendations. It also features travel advice from experts at Yahoo!, Lonely Planet and Flickr.
Yahoo! hopes the changes will help sustain recent growth in site traffic, which it says has increased 72% since last January.
Tracey Cheffey, Yahoo!’s Commercial Director of Travel said, “The new site is really engaging for users and simpler to navigate, and we know that this will make people spend longer on the site and visit us more often.”
For advertisers, Yahoo! has promised more pages available for takeovers, a greater audience thanks to improved SEO, better ad targeting and a more social and engaged environment.
“Our innovative new portfolio of ad formats means that we can work with businesses to create compelling advertising campaigns that inspire and engage our audience with our unique combination of Science – our ability to target effectively through technology, Art – creative, bespoke solutions all on a digital canvas and Scale – the millions of people who visit our sites on a daily basis,” said Cheffey.
