TravelTainment announces Richter as new chief

Timm Richter will take over as chief executive of TravelTainment, the leisure division of GDS and travel technology provider Amadeus, beginning in February.

Timm Richter will take over as chief executive of TravelTainment, the leisure division of GDS and travel technology provider Amadeus, beginning in February.


Ian Wheeler, vice president of marketing and distribution at Amadeus and chairman of the supervisory board at TravelTainment, said:


“Timm’s unique combination of extensive experience in a number of leading businesses with an in-depth technical knowledge make him ideally suited to leading TravelTainment forward in its next stage of development.”


Richter has had experience in the travel industry, working for Berge and Meer. He also worked as departmental head of innovation and services at Tchibo.


He said: “My work will focus on opening up even more potential for TravelTainment both nationally and internationally. In close cooperation with our customers we want to develop innovative and commercially successful products as well as new business models. We want to help our customers to successfully fulfil the travel wishes of the end user in an inspiring way.”


Richter takes over from current chief executive Andy Owen-Jones who will move to the supervisory board of the Amadeus Leisure Group.
