Travelport strikes major deal in Eastern Europe

The biggest air ticket retailer in the Czech Republic is to start using Galileo’s online and business services technology in a deal with parent company Travelport.

The biggest air ticket retailer in the Czech Republic is to start using Galileo’s online and business services technology in a deal with parent company Travelport.


With 13 offices, Student Agency also has growing presence in Slovakia. The company sold more than 230,000 air tickets worth $125 million last year, with a market share in the Czech Republic of over 20%. 


The five year agreement will see Travelport support Student Agency’s growth plans for 2011 by supplying a range of Galileo-powered tools and services including advanced shopping technology e-Pricing; pre- and post-ticketing data solution Galileo Integrated Data Source; and online booking engine Galileo Web Services. 


Student Agency online portals including www.kralovna.cz, www.letenky.cz, www.studentagency.cz and www.orbix.cz will also be powered by Travelport technology.
