Ebookers.com has added booking functionality to its mobile website which it launched with just search and browse functionality last year.

The online travel agent claims to be the first in Europe to offer a fully bookable mobile service for multiple products.

It also claimed beta trials for the new mobile website have shown its use for last minute bookers with 70% of hotel bookings made for same-day check-in compared to 15% from desktops.

The new mobile site offers full access to all flight, hotel and car hire products that are available on the desktop website. The site has been optimised for touchscreen phones but runs on any phone with a mobile browser.

Ebookers president Tamer Tamar said: “With the launch of our mobile site, we have taken a significant step forward in terms of meeting the needs of our customers.

“And we recognise the increasing importance to shop and book hotels, flight or cars anytime or anywhere for our customers.

“That is why we have heavily invested in developing an easy to use, reliable and safe mobile website that allows our customers to do everything they can do on our regular site and continue to book easier and travel happier.”

As well as bookability users can log into their personal accounts through the mobile website to see booking information, maps hotel reviews, and photos.
