Package holiday search engine Icelolly.com has made an unusual foray into video reviews for websites by interviewing members of the public about their holiday experiences.
The Icelolly.com ice cream van has been touring towns, cities and out-of-town shopping centres in the north of England to obtain reviews on holiday destinations.
The aim of the project is to obtain material for both the site and Icelolly parent company Sunmaster’s plans to launch an online TV channel later in the year.
Mark Cullen of Icelolly.com said: “We aim to continue travelling around towns and cities collecting as many reviews as possible to continue growing our archive as well as eventually allowing visitors to Icelolly.com to submit their own video reviews through the website.”
Since its launch earlier this year, Icelolly.com has embarked on a series of offbeat marketing projects to raise its awareness.
The company has refurbished an old ice cream van to establish an outdoor advertising presence in Sunmaster’s Yorkshire base, alongside sponsoring a vehicle in the recent Mongol Rally.
