TravelTainment chief executive Andy Owen-Jones is to hand over the running of the company.

Parent company Amadeus has started the search for a ‘hands–on’ CEO to succeed Owen-Jones, who will stay in charge in the interim.

“The goal of this procedure is to strengthen TT’s international position and expansion strategy by a supervisory board with on job experiences and an international perspective,” a statement said.

“The management and structure of TT is now very solid. For Andy Owen-Jones it’s the right moment to move to a higher level of management.”

Online and travel agency bookings over the TravelTainment system have been growing by approximately 20% this year.

Growth rates of 35% have been recorded in the second half of the year, with dynamic packaging being one of the main drivers – growing by more than 50%.

The TravelTainment management team has been strengthened in the last month with the appointments of new Germany country manager Oliver Rengelshausen, HR director Barbara Frett and finance director Edwin Petersen.
