Trade website Hotels4u.com has reported an 88% increase in sales in the first six months of 2006, following its rebranding from Trust Accommodation earlier this year.

The jump in activity has been credited with a surge in enthusiasm by agents for dynamic packaging on the site, where margins are bigger.

Hotels4u.com has also seen a rise in the number of sales of dynamically packaged holidays to long haul destinations.

The reason behind the sudden increase in sales, sales development manager Simon Barnes said, is also due to increased awareness and confidence by agents, alongside the launch of new long haul charter routes.

Barnes said: “The dynamic packaging market is incredibly strong at the moment, and a combination of modern technology, cheap airfares and commission cuts have all helped both our business and the proactive retailers that have embraced dynamic packaging.

“Agents are aware that they can sell for less and make more through dynamic packaging and have enough trust in the way it works to apply the principles to long haul destinations.

The site’s traditional Mediterranean products currently account for around 65% of total sales, but a 65% increase in dynamically packaged holidays to the US and Caribbean is expected to have a further impact in overall sales in 2006.
