An iPhone app has been released to give information about exhibitions and cultural events happening around Manchester.
The app has been developed by online arts magazine Creative Tourist and is designed to act as a mobile cultural guide to the city.
As well as live events, it includes practical information about museums and galleries, a range of walking tours, historical facts about Manchester and insider tips on the best cafés, bars and restaurants.
Creative Tourist was created by Manchester Museums Consortium and Modern History to raise the profile of Manchester and drive cultural tourism.
Editor Susie Stubbs explained why the app was developed: “We’ve been likened to a kind of cultural concierge service since much of our content is developed by locals who have specialist knowledge about Manchester’s hidden gems. Now those who are new to the city or just visiting can take the concierge with them as they explore Manchester.”
