The Wall Street Journal has reported search giant Google is interested in buying online travel agency Opodo from Amadeus.

The report, which said Google refused to comment on, also suggested Expedia and two private equity firms Permira and AXA Private Equity, could also be interested,

Although Amadeus has not officially said it is selling Opodo, which is expected to fetch between €400 million and €500 million, it does admit it is not a core business in the group.

Official bid documents for Amadeus are expected to be sent out by JP Morgan Chase, which is said to be handling the sale, within days.
