Discount room offers are being offered via Twitter by Travelodge.
The budget hotel chain is claiming a UK first by distributing the cut price weekend room offers for followers on Twitter.
Travelodge, with more than 450 UK hotels, will start the initiative next week by offering a two night stay in a UK city centre destination for under £50 for both nights for the coming weekend.
The campaign is being launched in a bid to encourage more people to visit cities such as Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Edinburgh.
The offer will be tweeted and followers will be able to book at www.travelodge.co.uk on a first come basis.
A different city centre destination will be offered to Twitter followers each week.
