A new booking tool is being deployed by USAirtours that will allow agents to transact online for the first time via the operator’s website.

The company is using software development firm Dolphin Dynamics technology to power the online booking platform.

The introduction will see 35 USAirtours sales consultants using Dolphin’s reservation and booking management modules to sell and manage travel itineraries, and streamline the process of preparing and confirming hundreds of quotes a day to independent travel agents.

The Dolphin solution includes a flight allocation module enabling the operator to manage contracted allocations and pricing for its directly negotiated air fares.

With results presented in a unified display alongside GDS-sourced flights. Dolphin will also provide links into third-party accommodation and car rental suppliers, as well as USAirtours’ own hotel and villa allocations.

The operator’s founder and chief executive Guy Novik said: “We reached a point where we simply had to invest in more advanced technology to cope with our substantial growth and to enhance the great service we already offer to the trade.

“After an extensive search we selected Dolphin due to its comprehensive functionality and because of the alignment between Dolphin Dynamics’ product development strategy and our own ambitious business plans.”

Dolphin Dynamics president Roberto Da Re said: “With more than 10 independent tour operators having already committed to deploying Dolphin so far this year, our entry into this sector has been fully endorsed and is now our fastest growth area.”
