CWT signs on to Traveport’s hotel billing system

Business travel giant Carlson Wagonlit Travel UK has become the first company to sign up for Travelport’s new hotel bill back system, hotelNett.

Business travel giant Carlson Wagonlit Travel UK has become the first company to sign up for Travelport’s new hotel bill back system, hotelNett.

Developed by payment solutions firm eNett International in a joint venture with Travelport, hotelNett allows travel management companies to process an electronic hotel invoice via the GDS.

Travelport holds a majority stake in the eNett joint venture which was formed last year to provide integrated payment solutions for the travel industry.

“Providing this hotel bill back service will lower costs, improve productivity, and allow for more timely payments,” said CWT UK industry affairs director Nigel Turner.

“The hotelNett solution is very straightforward to use and importantly requires no additional technology investment by Travelport, hoteliers or CWT as it uses a standard internet browser to upload the electronic invoices.

“I believe it will help reduce administration and allow us to focus on continually improving efficiencies and service for our clients.”

Travelport’s UK and Ireland general manager for GDS business Jérôme Moisan said: “It sounds surprisingly simple but the bill back process for hotel invoicing is often very onerous for both our hotel suppliers as well as our travel management partners.

“We’re therefore delighted to be leading the industry on this and offering eNett’s new hotelNett solution to overcome this significant challenge.”
