Change at the top for Travelport

A management shake up at Travelport has been triggered by Switzerland country manager Chris Dorner deciding to leave the company later this year.

Dorner, who has been with the company for ten years, is to “pursue a career opportunity” outside of Travelport.

Juergen Witte, head of Travelport Germany, has been promoted to the expanded role of regional manager for Germany and Switzerland.

As part of the regional re-structure, the Galileo and Worldspan parent will also recruit an additional customer-facing position based in Zurich.

Witte reports to Olaf Gueldner, president and managing director of Travelport’s Europe and Brazil region.

Gueldner said the structural change formed part of an ongoing strategy to adopt more of a “sub-region” approach within Europe given the number of shared opportunities that existed in neighbouring countries.

A new UK, Ireland and France sub-region was formed earlier this year headed by Jerome Moisan. The leadership of the Portuguese and Spanish markets was then combined under Antonio Loureiro.

Travelport Europe already includes an Eastern European and Nordics sub-region, a Benelux sub-region and a Southern European sub-region comprising Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Israel.
