New online community TravelOwl is striking deals with trade partners to provide product to its website in white-label deals.

BP Travel Marketing Services’ new sister-company TravelOwl, owned by parent company Orbital Marketing Services Group, had more than 100 reviews posted on its website in its first two days, a month before its official launch.

The consumer site Travelowl.co.uk went live at the end of last week with a competition to win two Eurostar tickets to Paris plus two nights’ accommodation.

Site visitors who submit reviews of holidays and travel experiences will be entered into a prize draw.

Sales director Steve Martin has approached potential partners including Medhotels, Holiday Taxis, Holiday Extras and Superbreak Mini-Holidays to provide accommodation and add-ons such as car hire in white-label deals through the site. TravelOwl would earn commission from operators for passing on sales leads from its site.

The site has also negotiated a deal with Broadway Travel to provide dynamically packaged lates deals under the agency’s ATOL.

Deals with partners are likely to be finalised in the next two weeks.

“I expect the booking side of the business to grow and it’s in our favour that we are neutral and not favouring any particular company,” said Martin.

Operators and agents are being sought to advertise against destination and resort reviews in time for the August launch. Advertisers will pay depending on lineage they use on the site.

Meanwhile, the group has a database of more than 100,000 customers to promote the site to.
