The US carrier, partner of Air France-KLM, plans to fit the integrated smart monitor developed by Panasonic Avionics in new, lightweight carbon-fibre seats on its fleet of 16 Boeing 747s.


The system will be installed from mid-2011 as part of a $1 billion upgrade, according to Flight International.


The system features a touch screen similar to Appleā€™s iPhone.
