Online cruise agency Cruise1st has expanded into Australia and revealed plans to enter Germany and Spain early next year.

Founder Dan Townsley said Australia, with English as the common language, was an obvious choice for the company’s first offshore venture. He is also looking into Mexico, Poland, Brazil and China.

Townsley said Cruise1st – which is owned by Royal Caribbean – will grow new-to-cruise markets in Australia and its future locations as 45% of its bookings in the UK are made by people who have never cruised before.

Kenny Picken, managing director of  Traveltek, provided the technology for Cruise1st.

“We recognised the opportunities in cruise across the UK and in international markets and have built a dynamic global packaging system for Cruise1st,” Picken said.

Products from Azamara Club Cruises, Celebrity, MSC Cruises, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Silversea and Uniworld are already up and running on www.cruise1st.com.au, along with domestic products from Captain Cook Cruises, Coral Princess Cruises, North Star Cruises, Orion Expedition Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia.
