Price comparison site Travelsupermarket has added airfares from flag carrier Air New Zealand to its portfolio of flight options.

The addition of Air New Zealand brings the Travelsupermarket roster up to 140 websites, the company said this week.

Director Chris Nixon said: “Adding Air New Zealand gives users the ability to compare even more flights, particularly to Australasia and the South Pacific.

“It is part of our ongoing campaign to add as many travel companies and flight options as we can.”

The deal comes during a busy period for Travelsupermarket, which recently announced plans to introduce a string of major new features to its core website, including user and professional reviews for hotels and accommodation contained within package holidays.

Expected to be rolled out in the coming months, the multi-layered product pages will also include maps and images and easier navigation.

Nixon said last week: “He added: “We are now moving away from meta search. The consumer is not just coming for price now.

“We used to be focused on driving volume to other sites, but we are giving people the content they need as they find the best price.”
