Manchester visitor centre to have surface tables

Manchester’s new visitor information centre will have surface tables when it opens in June.

Manchester’s new visitor information centre will have surface tables when it opens in June.

The destination is claiming a first for the interactive tables within tourism information centres and says the move is part of a wider digital strategy.

A revamped website has already been developed by MarketingManchester in conjunction with digital specialist magneticNorth.

The website includes an API, named Fabric, which draws relevant information from across the web including social media sites about what to do in the city.

The newly unveiled website marks the beginning of a digital strategy which includes the surface tables as well as mobile initiatives.
