Hotel search engine Gekko has launched save@gekko, a service which allows travellers to compile travel-based links, information and destinations while browsing the web.

Save@gekko allows consumers to save hotels from different websites into one shortlist and then compare them side-by-side.

It works by emailing links and travel information to save@gekko.com. A web bookmark tool – known as a bookmarklet – also helps to capture relevant information by sending an email with a single click from any web page.

The service creates a personal shortlist from which consumers can compare and select the right hotel at the best available price. The individual selections become the basis for highly personalised recommendations for future hotel bookings.

Gekko chief executive Michel Cassius said: “We want people to be able to access the Gekko experience anywhere online so we can help them sieve through the huge choice of hotels available, then remember and compare the little gems that they have found.

“Gekko is like a personal shopping assistant for hotels; it helps consumers to pick, compare and get the best deals based on their choices and priorities.”
