Travel guide specialists Simonseeks.com has launched a guide to finding holiday bargains.
The move follows a survey of 600 regular users that revealed most people would not consider paying the full price of a holiday with 70% wanting at least 25% off.
The research reiterates that there is still a strong desire to travel, but purchases are being made with a more sensible head.
Founder Simon Nixon said: “The results show us that Brits are online, on the ball and certainly not prepared to either pay full price or use credit to pay for this year’s holiday.”
More than half said they wouldn’t spend more than three days looking for their trip with 80% checking individual sites and 60% relying on price comparison tools.
Only one in five would pick up the phone and a third want to spend less money than last year.
The guide, written by editor Nick Trend, offers tips on elements such as car rental, hotels and flights and advice for those constrained by school holidays.
