Former Cook e-commerce director joins Gill’s Cruise Centre

Gill’s Cruise Centre has appointed former Thomas Cook e-commerce director Russell Gould as senior advisor to the chairman.

Gould will be focusing on the company’s operational and strategic development, particularly in the areas of e-commerce and gillscruise.com.

Gould’s most recent role was with Thomas Cook but he has also held positions at MyTravel, Bradford and Bingley and Norwich Union.

He has also been named by Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the world wide web, as one of the top 100 individuals in the development of the internet over the last 10 years.

Gould also sits on the leadership council for the UK’s first masters in internet retailing at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Business School.

Chairman Alistair Gill said:  “We are delighted Russell Gould will be joining the team at Gill’s Cruise Centre to advise us on our future strategy and e-commerce activity.

“We make no secret of our ambition, and to achieve our stiff targets for growth and market share, we rely on the high calibre of our team.

Gould said: “It is always so exciting to work with growing businesses and to help them realise their potential.

“This couldn’t be more the case with Gill’s Cruise Centre, and I am thrilled to be able to work closely with Alistair Gill and the rest of the team and to contribute to the company’s operational and strategic development.”
