On the Beach appoints chief technology officer

On the Beach has appointed Jonathan Smith as chief technology officer and board member.

Smith worked at moneysupermarket.com for six years, where he was data infrastructure manager and head of IT services and infrastructure, before being appointed IT director. Before that, he held senior roles at Tech Data and Informatics and BAE Systems.

At On the Beach, Smith will be responsible for all aspects of IT systems, design, management and support as well as delivering the OTA’s full product development roadmap.

As chief technology officer, he will be charged with building an in-house IT development team and IT service management system to support On the Beach’s expansion plans.
