MyTrainTicket is planning to go head-to-head with theTrainline as it unveils its rail ticketing website.

The service is offering passengers Airmiles for tickets purchased via the site and claims to simplify the booking process by offering ‘one-click’ access to fares by price as well as route.

MyTrainTicket displays all fares available across Advance, Off Peak and Anytime categories as well as displaying whether two singles or a return are better value.

Executive chairman Robin Wells said currently less than 15% of rail tickets were booked online representing huge potential.

He also anticipated savings of up to 80% for businesses buying tickets in advance compared with on the day of travel.

MyTrainTicket also enables travellers to add a ‘Plusbus’ ticket providing bus and tram travel within city destinations.

The service has also been designed to take advantage of mobile ticketing and smartcard developments once those technologies are released.
