Hotels.com hires ex-Lastminute CIO for top technology job

Hotels.com has appointed former Travelocity and Lastminute.com chief information officer Dr. Michael Remedios as its new head of technology

Hotels.com has appointed former Travelocity and Lastminute.com chief information officer Dr. Michael Remedios as its new head of technology.

Remedios, who has been associated with Expedia and Hotels.com in a consultancy capacity since February 2009, will undertake responsibility for the Hotels.com technology platform and build the Hotels.com technology team in London.

Remedios’s previous roles include chief technology officer for Move Inc. and chief information officer for Shopping.com, part of eBay Inc. Prior to this, he was chief information officer for Travelocity and Lastminute.com.

He also provided consulting services to technology companies through his own company, Star Solutions, Inc.

Remedios holds a Ph.D. Computer Control and Fluid Dynamics from Nottingham (Trent) University in the UK and a B.Sc. Physics and Computer Science from Kings College, University of London.
