Expedia is offering up to 11.5% commission for travel agency affiliates in a new performance-related award scheme.

The scheme will rate agents in the Travel Agencies Affiliate Programme (TAAP) as silver, gold or platinum based on performance against set targets.

TAAP launched in the UK in October 2008 and now has 715 travel agents in the network. Expedia said it has seen a 59% rise in subscriptions in the last six months. Of these, more than 30 partners have already achieved membership to the award scheme.

Diego Pedrani, director travel agent distribution at Expedia, said: “The new scheme has been designed to reward success for our partners who meet their targets.

“It’s a great way for affiliates to earn additional revenue while helping their customers research, plan and book the right holiday.

“At the moment we’re seeing bookings of dynamic packages soar, particularly to the US, as customers continue to seek out the best value holidays on the market.”

As members of TAAP agents are provided with direct access to the Expedia inventory including flights, hotels, car hire and tickets for attractions, tickets and local transport through a dedicated portal.
