Travel Buddy targets airline customers with GuestLogix deal

Travel Buddy has announced a partnership with GuestLogix to provide its travel information services to airline customers.

Travel Buddy has announced a partnership with GuestLogix to provide its travel information services to airline customers.

The deal comes as onboard store technology provider GuestLogix launches OnTouch Concierge Everywhere to help airlines increase their ancillary revenue.

The system will offer destination information, special offers and promotional coupons, restaurant recommendations, transfer information and the ability to book tickets for shows to passengers who have registered with the airline.

Travel Buddy, which was developed by Mobiletrails, will provide information via SMS and on mobile internet about the destination based on customers’ travel dates.

Future plans include making the information available at concierge desks at hotels and airports. Trials of the service will begin soon with a number of major US airlines.

Jason Rivolta, Travel Buddy commercial director, said: “We are very excited that our partnership with GuestLogix will bring our content and services to potentially in excess of 500 million travellers globally and can be delivered direct to their mobile in their destination and on board.

“OnTouch Concierge Everywhere allows airlines to become an integral part of the passenger’s journey particularly when they step off the plane. The new mobile platform will for the first time start to generate revenue for the airline at destination and opens up new revenue streams.”

Tom Douramakos, GuestLogix chief executive added: “OnTouch allows airlines to capitalize on the needs and wants of a highly lucrative consumer group in a captive and controlled cabin environment and now OnTouch Concierge Everywhere extends that onboard store experience beyond the flight during the entire trip and afterwards as well.”
