A first deal has been agreed for a Travel Management Company to offer its customers Sabre Travel Studios’ new TripCase mobile itinerary and information service for travellers.

The agreement means US-based Omega World Travel will be able to communicate through the system with its customers throughout their trip.

The free system allows a travellers’ itinerary to be uploaded with detailed information about the trip including alerts, flight status, gate changes, baggage claim location and itinerary sharing.

It also has the ability for promotions to be linked to the itinerary from commercial partners, like offering upgraded lounge access during long transfers or promotions at airport outlets like restaurants.

Users can also access transfer and car rental information as well as weather and hotel updates.

TripCase, which to date has only been available direct from Sabre, is currently compatible with Blackberry, iPhone, iTouch and Windows mobile devices and soon it will be available on Android devices.

John Samuel, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Studios, the Sabre division that has developed TripCase, said: “TripCase has immense potential in the corporate travel arena.

“Beyond merely keeping travellers informed, corporations working with progressive TMCs can use this platform to enhance collaboration, drive usage of preferred suppliers, and more.”

Gloria Bohan, Omega’s chief executive, added: “The deployment of TripCase provides us the opportunity to further enhance the quality services we provide to our customers in the areas of communication, risk management and corporate responsibility.”

Omega World Travel serves multi-national corporations and government agencies and is ranked as the third largest travel management company in the US.
