Digital marketing agency Cheeze has created BLAD, a system it claims will be the world’s biggest database of potential marketing opportunities on Blogs and podcasts.
The tool has been created to allow travel and other advertisers to attach their brands and messages to the mushrooming number of Blogs and podcasts available for download online.
Some travel companies have been taking up so-called ‘podvertising’ in recent months and a number are putting relevant Blogs that take pay per click, banner, button and skyscraper ad slots on to their online media schedules.
The Virgin Holidays destination podcasts and sites such as Itoors.com have signified the rising popularity of podcasts, Cheeze said.
One recent podcast, Sowerby and Luff’s Comedy 365, signed a major sponsorship deal with a US company following 1.4 million worldwide downloads.
