Mobile Travel Technologies is expanding its team to reflect the growth of travel companies adopting mobile services.
The company has already recruited finance manager Geoff O’Brien and senior technical manager Kris Glowacki and is now looking for a head of sales and business development.
O’Brien was formerly with Diageo and Glowacki joined from global distribution giant Sabre.
MTT signed a deal with Spanish hotel group Sol Melia in January enabling the customers to look up hotel information and make reservations via their mobile device.
MTT founder and executive director Gerry Samuels said: “Very clearly now people are seeing a return on investment for mobile. There are some very big mobile sites getting three million users a month and that gives a sense of the magnitude.”
The company saw a spike in traffic and bookings to mobile sites at the end of 2009 with many of its customers experiencing 50% growth from November to December.
