The Travolution Summit in April will hear from the man who replaced Peter Rothwell at the head of TUI Travel’s northern region which includes the UK.

Johan Lundgren, the man who TUI UK chief executive Dermot Blastland reports into, will join a high profile line-up of speakers also including the UK head of Google Matt Brittin, as revealed last week.

Lundgren became head of the division in 2008 after a restructure following the merger with First Choice and the departure of Rothwell, who is now chief executive of Kuoni.

Also due to speak are Easyjet UK general manager Paul Simmons, Expedia affiliate network president Henrik Kjellberg and Travelzoo executive vice president for Europe Chris Loughlin.

TW Group editor Lucy Huxley said: “As the man who heads the TUI operation in the UK Lundgren is a hugely important figure, although he is not a regular speaker at industry events.

“We’re delighted to have secured him as a speaker for the summit this year. Further announcements of headline speakers are imminent for what promises to be an umissable conference for senior managers working in all parts of the travel industry.”

Now in its fifth year, the 2010 Travolution Summit will offer a mixture of political and economic views and opinions as well as the usual focus on developments in technology and travel retailing online.

The summit takes place at the Renaissance Chancery Court on April 20. Registrations are now open and there is an early bird price for all bookings taken before February 20.
