iClick2go unveils mobile video service

iClick2go, a service enabling smartphone users to download holiday-related video footage and special offers, has been unveiled.

The service, which has been created by tourism and travel video specialist Geocast TV in conjunction with VisitBritain, is piloting

iClick2go with the New Forest.

Hotels, bed and breakfasts and attractions pay on a sliding scale for the development of the clips depending what is included. The footage also features e-mail and phone number at the end for booking.

The video footage will be promoted by VisitBritain and the company also plans to promote the service online through relevant blogs and travel sites.

Geocast production director Robert Hickey, said talks were ongoing with tourism organisations from other regions.

The one minute clips are free to consumers and the plan is to make the application available via the Apple Store in the next few weeks.
