Costa Cruises’ newest ship Costa Deliziosa has made its debut online with its own dedicated website ahead of its February naming Dubai.

The ship will make history on February 23 becoming the first to be christened in the Emirate where Costa has pioneered a lucrative cruise business.

The website

features video and other imagery as a preview of the ship’s design and  what the line said are the superior materials used in its construction.

The videos also include interviews with loyalty scheme customers of Costa and the ship’s crew including captain Giuseppe Russo.

Costa said the use of guest testimonials was intended to tap into social media and inspire new potential customers for the Carnival-owned Italian line.

The ship’s brochure, which has been distributed to agents is also on the webssite which will be updated with the latest news at the official launch.

Costa Cruises has used online marketing since 2007 to promote its brand when the naming of Costa Serena was broadcast online on SecondLife.

The following year it launched WebTV aimed at combating commonly held myths about the brand and last year a YouTube feed for past and future customers to share experiences.

On June 5 last year, the joint christening of Costa Luminosa and Costa Pacifica was broadcast via webcast and live updates of news and photos plus contributions from ‘Costa bloggers’.
