A new full content distribution agreement has been agreed with Amadeus by Lufthansa German Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines.

A new full content distribution agreement has been agreed with Amadeus by Lufthansa German Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines.

The deal means agents will get full access to the airlines’ inventory with no surcharge. The new deal is valid until the end of 2014.

Amadeus said from March 2010 schedules and inventory on the GDS will be the same and offered with the same terms and conditions as those on other distribution providers, indirect or direct channels.

Philippe Chérèque, executive vice president, commercial, at Amadeus said: “We are delighted with this agreement which brings comfort, stability and efficiency to the many thousands of travel agents worldwide who make bookings on Lufthansa and SWISS, two of the world’s leading airlines.

Thierry Antinori, Lufthansa German Airlines board member for marketing and sales added:

“This agreement strikes an important balance between delivering distribution efficiency for Lufthansa in a cost effective manner while at the same time maximising our volumes by ensuring unrestricted access to our content through Amadeus, one of our most significant distribution and IT partners.”
