Spanish online car hire broker Bravo Car Hire has started communicating with customers by text after agreeing a deal to use the services provided by Text Messaging Centre.
The system, which Bravo said underwent a successful trial, has been designed to send text confirmations and booking references to customers quickly and efficiently.
The SMS system is in addition to Bravo’s existing email-based system and the company said it will solve problems caused by using email such as wrong or misspelt addresses.
It is working alongside Spain’s leading car hire rental companies to simplify the process of hiring a vehicle, Bravo said.
Bravo Car Hire company manager Andrew Shaw, said: “Using the SMS solution from Text Messaging Centre we are now also able to send our customers a text message, as well as an email, confirming that their booking has been successful.
“By using SMS we are able to utilise another communication method to ensure that the customer receives all the necessary documentation relating to their car hire booking.
“One of the major advantages of SMS communication is that it is instant. Our booking process is very quick and straight forward, so it is easy for customers to book their car hire when they have a spare moment at work or in-between tasks.
“By sending the customer a text message, they do not need to remain at the computer waiting for their confirmation. They can continue with their day knowing that they will receive their confirmation via SMS.”
Shaw said the system has proved easy to use and has been cost effective and integrated well into Bravo’s existing systems.
