Directski.com, the UK’s fastest growing ski holiday company, has acquired the longest established and most comprehensive online source of European ski resort information, www.skiingthealps.com

www.skiingthealps.com contains detailed information about more than 120 featured ski resorts, gathered over a 45 year period and compiled onto the site by skier and former site editor, Paul Youden.

New owners, Directski.com, say they will continue to invest in the site level by adding more regularly updated content, resort reviews, news stories and ski deals. They will maintain the site’s popular features, covering snow reports, information about travelling with families, driving holidays, travel by train and air and ski insurance. They also plan to add in new ski holiday offers, bookable online via the site.

Owner and founder of Directski.com, Anthony Collins, said “While maintaining all the elements that have made Skiingthealps one of the top ski information sites for so many years, we’ll soon be introducing Skiing the Alps readers to very best ski deals to the Alps. That’s where our expertise and enthusiasm for skiing dovetails so neatly with the aim of the site, to enable us to bring to skiers the very best resort and ski holiday information, now with the best ski deals”.

Former Skiingthealps owner, Paul Youden said “I am delighted that Skiingthealps will be in the best possible hands and will continue to be enhanced and expanded. The enthusiasm with which Directski.com have approached this opportunity is palpable and I am confident they’ll continue to develop the site for the benefit of skiers. I wish them considerable future success with Skiingthealps”. Paul will continue to have an involvement for the 2009-10 winter in a consultancy role.

New site editor, Neal Collins, said “This is a marvellous opportunity to further invest in what is already one of the best ski resort information resources on the internet. Paul’s done a marvellous job in creating the most independent and comprehensive database of European ski resort information and I look forward to sustaining and supplementing the content”.
