Sydney, 2 November, 2009 – Travelport, one of the world’s leading global distribution system (GDS) providers operating both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms, has signed an exclusive, long term agreement with Stella Travel Services Group to once again provide GDS services to Harvey World Travel. Galileo has now been the GDS of choice for Harvey World Travel for nearly two decades.

Shelley Beasley, Travelport’s Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand said: “We are very proud to continue our long term partnership with an agency group of Harvey World Travel’s calibre and look forward to working closely with them to meet their retail travel needs.”

“The latest enhancements made to our mid/back office solution, CrossCheck Travel Enterprise, coupled with Travelport being the only GDS in the region to provide a full service and support centre onshore, demonstrates our “customer first” approach and has helped us with many of our recent significant wins like this Harvey World Travel agreement,” Beasley added.

David Rivers, Harvey World Travel’s Managing Director commented: “Today’s announcement reaffirms the strong partnership that already exists between Travelport and Harvey World Travel and we are delighted to extend this into the next decade and beyond”.

The winning of this significant contract follows Travelport’s being voted by readers of TTG Asia’s “Best GDS Asia Pacific” as well as “Best GDS Australia” via an online travel industry readership poll, eTravelBlackboard Australia.  Travelport was also recently ranked number 11 in the 2009 InformationWeek 500 annual listing of the most innovative users of business technology in the United States.
